Tampa Bay/Hudson, Florida - Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point will continue its "Tuesday Tutorials" on March 8 when it will present the seminar entitled "Hospice and Palliative Care." The seminar will be held at the Rao Musunuru, MD Conference Center at 14100 Yosemite Drive, Hudson, Florida 34667. The program will be presented by Gary McCarragher, MD and Charles Suggs, MD.
Since July 2015, Dr. McCarragher has been the medical director at HPH Hospice. Prior to joining this organization, he had been a hospice physician with Hospice & Palliative Physician Services in Hernando County for six years. Born and raised in Montreal, Dr. McCarragher began his medical career as a gastroenterologist and was in private practice for 15 years with Hernando Gastroenterology Associates in Brooksville.
Dr. McCarragher received his Bachelor of Science in physiology and his medical degree from McGill University in Montreal. He then went to Ontario where he completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Ottawa General Hospital, which was followed by a fellowship in gastroenterology at Ottawa Civic Hospital. Dr. McCarragher is also certified by the Hospice Medical Director Certification Board. In addition to being published in a number of medical journals, Dr. McCarragher is a novelist with a thriller titled Unhinged. His other interests include performing community theater, cycling, and supporting BLOOM Africa, an organization that provides hope and support for orphans in Africa.
Charles L. Suggs, III, MD, specializes in hospice and palliative care and is on the medical staff at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point. He received his medical degree from the renowned Georgetown University in Washington, DC and completed a residency at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York, and his fellowship at Tufts New England Medical Center, Boston, Massachusetts and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is certified in hospice and palliative medicine and OB/GYN.
Registration/lunch begins at 11:30 and the tutorial will begin at noon.
