Interventional radiology

Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point is proud to announce the addition of a sophisticated x-ray imaging system for the Neuroscience Center. The interventional suite features state of the art equipment, which allows physicians to view extremely detailed, real-time images of a patient's head, neck and spine during stroke and other neuro-endovascular procedures that require exact precision. Our expert team of nurses, technologists and physicians use advanced imaging techniques to diagnose and treat a wide range of diseases, from stenosis to

  • Stroke interventions
  • Aneurysm Coiling
  • Diagnostic Angiograms

  • X-Ray

Computerized Tomography (CT) is one of the most commonly used tools to examine the brain, chest, abdomen and pelvis.

Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point currently has two CT scanners that offer superior image quality and speed. We specialize in cardiac surgical planning, biopsies, drain insertions, and oncology interventions.

Live X-rays that allow you to visualize bones, organs, and systems of the body utilizing contrast. This is also used in interventional and surgical settings. Some of the current studies we perform include, but are not limited to, Modified Barium Swallows, Esophagrams, Upper Gastrointestinal Series, Lumbar Punctures, Myelograms, and Arthrograms.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) utilizes a high-powered magnet in combination with many different radio frequencies to produce images of the human body. With our powerful 1.5 T scanner, we are proud to offer our community a wide variety of exams and services including radio waves to create accurate and detailed images of the body, including the brain, spine and extremities.

Nuclear medicine

This imaging technology uses a special radioactive material that is picked up and visualized with nuclear technology for diseases affecting the gallbladder, heart and thyroid.

One of the most patient-friendly procedures, the ultrasound enables physicians to "see" inside the body to evaluate internal organs, pregnancies, cancer, abdominal disorders, blood vessel problems, pelvic disorders and other problems.

X -Ray is a high-energy form of electromagnetic waves that helps physicians visualize bones, soft tissues and some organs.

Patients coming to the hospital for Diagnostic Imaging should park in the Entrance "D" parking area, which is located on the opposite side of the hospital from Fivay Road. Valet services are available from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
